215 kilos of refuse recycled from Javea seabed

THE LA NAO diving centre took 80 volunteers out last Sunday for its VI day of seabed cleaning.

The initiative – supported by Javea Town Hall – collected 215 kilos of refuse from the area between the Arenal and Cala del Ministre alone.

Among the waste recovered from the sea were 19 tyres, 15 pipes, 27 drinks cans, 20 metal pipes, 44 shoes or flip-flops, 120 pieces of plastic and other small appliances.

All refuse was deposited in containers provided by the town for recycling and transferred to the ecoparc.
