THE ALICANTE Provincial Council has included in the Provincial Plan of Cooperation Works and Services 2017 the refurbishment of the former headquarters of the ‘Banca Comes’ in Pedreguer.
The refurbished building is to provide a new space for development of municipal activities, in accordance with the express wishes of Josep Antoni and Clementina Comes, who generously gifted the property to the municipality at the City Hall.
According to the report prepared by the municipality, the overall cost of the operation would be about 446,369€, of which the Council will assume 75 per cent (€ 334,776.75).
The project plans provide for an exhibition hall and a cafeteria on the ground floor of the building, a multipurpose room, an office and a warehouse on the first floor and several offices and a warehouse on the second floor. All this, accompanied by several bathrooms and a lift for easy access to the upper floors.
The property is located at 10 Carrer de Bonaventura Costa, with excellent access to the Placa de l’Amistat. The space which is now occupied by the Placa de l’Amistat was also gifted to the municipality by the Comes family in 2000.
