Car of missing person found in Calpe

THE car of the 83-year old Belgian man who went missing on January 21 this year has been found empty at the bottom of the Puerto Blanco dock.

On Monday morning, the vehicle was located by the the Grupo Especial de Actividades Subacuáticas (GEAS) of the Guardia Civil, the unit in charge of the search and rescue of people, the location and recovery of objects in the aquatic environment, among other missions .

Divers found the vehicle empty and had hoped to track the area for further evidence but were unable to as visibility was poor. The hypothesis is that the man could have been dragged away by a flood.

As soon as the weather conditions improve, the search will continue.
