THE TEAM are now unbeaten on their home turf for 4 seasons running

On Sunday March 12, the Estadio de Rugby de Villajoyosa played host to the Division of Honor B game between home team Club Rugby La Vila (La Vila) and BUC Barcelona (BUC).

La Vila secured a victorious 43-10 win against the visitors and are now unbeaten on their home turf for 4 consecutive seasons.

BUC thought that a turnover of La Vila in their own home might have been possible and at times, the game was in their hands.

The visiting side started off strong with a drop goal in the 10th minute scored by Miquel Mas.

With the encouragement of the goal in their favour, BUC began to give fluidity to the game, but it was only a matter of time before La Vila struck the table with an incursion by Nacho Muller. The subsequent scoring of La Vila defenders Geronimo Fernandez and Juan Ignacio Perez closed the first half on a tight 19-10 that left the doors open to both teams.

In the second half, the Barcelona side, led by Hernan Quirelli lacked vigour, showing real potential to La Vila as a rival they could beat.

Thus came the try of midfielder Matias Lamboglia, with an unpredictable and speedy change of pace that allowed his move into the opposite line. Following great work from the three-quarters, with the help of Luciano Martínez who returned to the field after his injury, Matias Jara finished the game on the 43 points.

The next and penultimate game of Division of Honor B will take place on Sunday March 26 and La Vila will play away against CAU Valencia on the Camp de Rugbi del Riu field on the Turia River.

On Sunday April 2, the regular league will close for La Vila with a game against the Tecnidex Valencia in the Estadio de Rugby de Villajoyosa
