THE Costa Blanca Anglo Spanish Association is a non-profit association boasting approximately 110 expatriate members.
The principal aim of the association is to give members the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of Spain; its history, geography, and culture.
Meetings take place on a Monday, once a month in March, May, September and November and in January there is an AGM. All meetings are held at the Parador Hotel in Javea and usually feature a speaker addressing a topic relevant to Spanish history, geography and/ or culture. Meetings are in English and are followed by an optional dinner at a local restaurant.
The annual programme is normally made up of the five meetings in Javea, plus guided visits and day trips, in small groups, to places of interest locally and further afield; there are also longer excursions and cultural and social events, all with a specific Spanish theme.
At the most recent meeting last week, Senor Jose Chulvi, the Mayor of Javea, could not join the group at the Parador as planned due to an important meeting in Alicante, but kindly headed to La Fontana restaurant on the Arenal and chatted to members after dinner.
