Estate agent fined 200€ for hanging ‘for sale’ board on public sign

AT FIRST glance, one might have thought that the Granadella cove was up for sale last week, as an estate agent had hung a ‘for sale’ board on the public sign which gives directions to the beach in Javea.

The sign had intended to advertise the sale of a cottage but confused locals because of where it was placed.

When Javea Mayor Jose Chulvi became aware of the sign, he immediately sent the local police to remove it.

Private use of public supports is against the law and the municipality has imposed a fine of 200€ on the estate agent.
