Hospitality leaders team up in Calpe

THE NEW board of the association ‘Hosteleria Sabor a Calpe’ met this week with the Councillor of Commerce, Ana Sala.

The association, led by Ivan Ivars Such, manager of the cocktail bar ‘Coco’s Beach Bar’, ran through its current objectives with the councillor – one of which being to leverage Calpe’s recognition for its gastronomic offerings – and requested collaboration from the City Council.

Other members of the board include former President Antonio Caceres (Restaurant Andalucia) and Jose Baidal (Restaurant Baidal) as Vice Presidents, Jaime Gilabert (Heladeria Pinnochio) as Treasurer and Patrick Manguete (Puerto Blanco Restaurant) as Speaker.

The association have also contracted the services of Mario Schumacher – expert in organisation of tourist events – to lead on communication and strategy.

The meeting spoke of the need to collaborate with hotels and to streamline leisure activities in the municipality.

The association Hosteleria Sabor a Calpe is formed of representatives from over 45 restaurants, bars, cafes, ice cream shops, pubs and discos in the area.
