IES Pedregeuer students shine in Catalan competition


Lara Pons, Flavia Ferrus, Maria Martinez, Irene Femenia and Aixa Gasquet from the 2n de Batxillerat of IES Pedreguer participated in the final stage of the L’Olimpíada de Filologia Catalana (Olympiad of Catalan), organised by the Universitat d’Alacant.

This final was held March 17 at the university after a preliminary ‘virtual treasure hunt’ stage which involved more than three hundred students from schools in the province.

The top eight finishers received awards – Flavia Ferrus came sixth and Irene Femenia came fifth.

This marks the third year the the 2n de Batxillerat of IES Pedreguer has had students representing the school and winning awards in the final of L’Olimpíada. Last year Marc Miralles came fifth and in 2014 and 2015, Sergi Fornes placed in the top eight.
