Two robbers arrested with a knife in the centre of Elche

THE LOCAL police of Elche arrested two robbers on Wednesday morning who were armed with a knife in the centre of Elche.

The male and female duo pulled up in a car on la Avenida de la Comunidad Valenciana, next to Calle Lepanto and the male leaped out of the car before assaulting a pedestrian – who was on his way home from work – with an 11-centimetre knife and several kicks, demanding money.

He then confronted another passer-by, threatening him with the knife whilst the female watched from inside the car.

Having had no luck in extracting money from either of their victims, the pair fled but were soon intercepted by the local police, who arrested them immediately.
