ON Saturday 25 March, Denia will play host to an authentic zombie apocalypse.
Organised by Last Day in collaboration with the Department of Youth of the City of Denia, from 11pm onwards, the undead will take to the city to challenge those brave enough to face them.
Last Zombie Day provides an ‘escape room’ style environment, with live ‘Walking Dead’ style characters.
As individuals or in a group, to survive the night participants (‘surviviors’) will need to pass a variety of intelligence and logic tests set to them by the zombies in different locations around the city.
Throughout the night, survivors who fail to pass the tests will become zombies and in the end there will only be two winners.
The event is open to children aged 14+, although those under the age of 18 must evidence parent or guardian permission. Children under the age of 14 are able to participate in the company of adults.
There are different types of entries, depending on the role you want to play. Zombie tickets are €10 and survivors tickets are €20 in an early-bird promotion, rising to €40 as the day of the event approaches. Tickets can be purchased at the post office or on the website www.entradium.com.
Between 500 and 600 people are expected to take part, with Denia expected to be particularly busy that weekend.
Councilor for Youth, Cristina Morera highlighted the importance of offering alternative leisure options to youths, leaving alcohol and drugs aside.
The event will also take place in Villa Joyosa on April 29.
