CONGRATULATIONS to the singer Barry Manilow who has said publicly that he is gay after keeping his sexuality secret for decades for fear of “disappointing his fans”. The music veteran, whose hits include “Looks Like We Made It” and “Copacabana”, also confirmed that he has been in a relationship with a man for 39 years. It is the first time he has spoken openly about his sexuality.
Manilow married Garry Kief at their home in Palm Springs in 2014, but never publicly confirmed the news because he was unsure how fans would react, he told People magazine. The 73-year-old told the publication: “I’m so private. I always have been.”
Personally I think if you are a TRUE fan of an artist, actor or whatever, the sexual orientation of the person should have no bearing on the talent. Just saying! So many people are too quick to judge!
The World’s Highest-Paid Actors 2016 list has been revealed: The Rock Leads With Knockout $64.5 Million Year!
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson elbowed out reigning top-ranked Robert Downey Jr. to become the world’s highest-paid actor, and scored his biggest ever annual pay-check in the process.
Johnson’s $64.5 million payday more than doubled his 2015 earnings, making him this year’s biggest dollar gainer. The muscle man’s millions came from upfront fees for movies including Central Intelligence and Fast 8, as well as the forthcoming Baywatch (also starring Zac Efron…YUM!) in which he’s set to play Mitch Buchannon. A hefty chunk of the Fast and Furious franchise and performance of his recent films (including 2015’s hit San Andreas) have seen his quotes skyrocket.
Rounding out the top five is top-dog list member Tom Cruise (No. 4, $53 million) and Johnny Depp (No. 5, $48 million)
Combined, the world’s 20 highest-paid actors earned a whopping $703.5 million between June 1, 2015 and June 1, 2016, before management fees and taxes.
Almost universally, a gender pay gap persists. The world’s highest-paid actress Jennifer Lawrence takes $46 million.
One for the girls! Continuing the gender pay-gap story, something that will make you go AWWW! Big Bang Theory’s male cast mates have taken a hefty $100,000 per episode pay-cut to support and bump up the salaries of their fellow female actors!
