Benidorm refreshes the parts other TV beer ads can’t reach

BENIDORM WILL once again be featured heavily on TV this summer, but this time on a prime time Spanish TV ad for the beer company Heineken.

A video was recorded last week on the Poniente beachfront area, featuring singer David Otero performing his single ‘Sal a la Calle’ which is the theme tune being used for a TV advert to promote Heineken’s Summer beer Amstel Radler …. Beer with lemon.

Benidorm was chosen as a location for the video following a social media campaign asking the beer company’s Instagram and Twitter followers to pick their three ideal locations for filming.

Over 6.6 million people voted and Benidorm was chosen in the top three along with the Plaza de Oriente in Madrid and the famous iron bridge in Salamanca.

Oscar Greca, a 27 year old draughtsman from Madrid was chosen from all the followers who voted, to make an appearance with David Otero in the video clip. in addition to the prize obtained the winner was also officially recognised by Visit Benidorm as a #BeniLover

The video clip will be seen on Spanish TV screens across all the main channels at the beginning of May during prime time programmes.

The has received all the support of the Council of Tourism of Benidorm who fully approved and endorsed the bureaucratic procedures and advised exteriors locations for the production company through the Benidorm Film Office.

In addition the Visit Benidorm Foundation has also actively collaborated in the making of the video that promotes the city as a perfect movie set.
