€200,000 to boost employment in Pedreguer

ON MARCH 1, the fifth plan of Promotion of Local Employment of the City of Pedreguer began.

The aim of the initiative is to support local unemployed people in integrating back into the workplace, through training, work experience and improvement of employability opportunities.

The plan will be fully funded by the City and has been allocated €200,000 from the 2017 budget.

The plan, governed by les oficines del Servof and CREAMA, involves a total of 64 unemployed people registered in the municipality and will continue for 10 months.

The workers are employed across a variety of public services – home help (six people), administrative support (four people) and agriculture, forestry and general services (54 people).

All workers are employed under contract and paid corresponding to the minimum wage.

The application period was open from January 30 to February 10, during which 156 applications were submitted.

The selection process took place in February and decisions were made in consideration of those most affected by the unemployment crisis and those unemployed for the longest amount of time.
