Top-notch month for tourism in Benissa

THE MONTH of March saw much movement in Benissa to promote tourism throughout the municipality.

La Mostra Gastronomica festival celebrated its tenth year. Following the festival, Carol Ivars – Councillor of Commerce, Xavier Tro – CREAMA Councillor and Fernando Lopez Corsi – Councillor of Tourism met with local hospitality representatives who had taken part, all confirming the festival’s resounding success: from the new activities such as ‘Putxero de Polp’ to the craft beer tasting and workshops led by the likes of Uvas Cabrera, the programme was excellently received by members of the public.

Benissa joined its neighbours Calpe and Teulada Moraira at ‘MEDSEA’ – the first international water sports trade fair held at the Institucion Ferial Alicantina, Alicante, promoting the muncipality’s nautical offering.

Raquel Huete – Director General of Tourism proposed the creation of a work space and library dedicated to tourism professionals and students and also presented a ‘Code of Ethics for Tourism’ – reinforcing quality standards and ecological priorities throughout the sector.
