Seagull rescued by passers-by

CONCERNED PASSERS-BY saved a disorientated seagull from fatal injury on a busy Alicante City street earlier this week.

The bird was in difficulties, unable to fly, wandering amongst traffic on Pleno Alfonso el Sabio on Tuesday morning.

A number of people realising the injured bird’s plight, dodged the traffic to pick the seagull up and prevent further injury or death. Fortunately, as it was a fiesta day in the city, the traffic was light and the rescue proved successful.

The bird was eventually picked up by local police who delivered to a special sanctuary for injured birds in Santa Faz.
