Hot cross buns go down at treat at Valldigna golf day

0

THE VALLDIGNA Golf Society enjoyed a fabulous day’s golf for their monthly Stableford competition, at their home course La Galiana Club de Golf, La Barraca de Aguas Vivas on Tuesday April 18.

In beautiful, sunny conditions, a good turnout of 21 golfers turned up to play, the course which played a little slower than usual, helping to bring in some high scores.

First place went to Ralph Borthwick with 35 points, Second place went to Mark Wynnick with 34 points and third place 33 went to Trevor Nash with 33 points.

We had the top ten players all come in with 30 points or more, a very pleasing show by everyone.

The nearest the pin prizes went to Stephen Forster, Peter Smit, Derek Ashton, David Robertson, Don Bunyan, and Keith White.

The two longest drives went to Steve Arnold on the 11th and David Robertson on the 12th.

The lost balls competition was won by Stephen Forster who won 48 euros on the day but was not willing to share his winning formula with anyone.

The company was good, the weather was warm and sunny and the hot cross buns went down a treat with both players and La Galiana staff.

The Valldigna Golf Society’s next competition is on the 16th of May and they welcome new members and guests.

Anyone wishing to give the course a try please email valldignagolfsoc@hotmail.com or contact Don on 600 681 715 or Peter on 851 000 268.
