11-year-old Calpe kid wins Valencia literature award


THIS WEEKEND, 11-year-old Lois Quadflieg from Calpe won the prestigious ‘Concurs de literature en valencia’ award in the Premi Sambori competition which she entered through her school CEIP Oltá in Calpe.

A total of 961 schools from all across the Valencian Community took part in the competition, entering 137,326 students.

Lois took first place in her age group, wowing the judge with her short story ‘Roxy in Problemland’.

Lois collected her prizes from the University of Valencia last Saturday.

Lois is Dutch but has lived in Calpe her entire life after being born there. The youngest member of the musically gifted Quadfleig family, it comes as no surprise that her hobbies and singing, dancing and acting.
