15-year-old Denia boy charged with gender-based violence

NATIONAL POLICE in Denia arrested a 15-year-old boy last week after he showed friends sexually explicit photos and videos of his 13-year-old ex-girlfriend.

A representative of Participacion Ciudadana – who visits school across the Marina Alta supporting adolescents – became aware of the young girl being victimised by her ex-boyfriend and notified the authorities.

Officers learnt that, when they were together, the defendant had forced the victim to take sexually explicit photographs of herself and send them to him.

The Brigada de Policia Judicial later learnt that the defendant was found to have recorded sexually explicit videos, without the consent of the victim – and showed his friends.

The defendant used the material to exercise control over the victim after their relationship ended, threatening to post it on social media.

The mobile phone of the defendant as well as other computer equipment was seized and he was charged with gender-based violence, discovery and disclosure of secrets and corruption of minors.
