Costa del Sol balcony fall girl recovering

A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl who fell 10 metres from a third storey balcony in the Costa del Sol’s Rincon de la Victoria is said to be recovering.

The child, who was apparently playing with a friend when she went over, was initially on a ventilator at the Materno Infantil hospital in Malaga. She is now said to be breathing on her own, although she is still suffering from a traumatic brain injury.

Neighbours say they alerted emergency services after hearing the girl’s father shout “my girl, my girl.” They then saw her lying on the ground, bleeding from her mouth and nose. She is thought to have regained consciousness before being transferred to hospital.

Police are now investigating the events leading up to her fall but believe it was an accident.
