BENAVISTA BOWLS Club opened their doors to members and visitors last week, for a special St George’s Day celebration.
Attendees at the ‘Fun Day’ were encouraged to wear the colours of St George, so it was no surprise to see them all arrive bedecked in red and white clothing, including the odd silly hat.
The competitive side of proceedings on the day was a none too serious team ‘trips’ competition. The winning team would simply be the one being the one scoring the highest number of points.
Mike Old, Audrey Shakesheff and Yvonne Paige were the members of the winning team and each received a bottle of wine.
Once the serious side of the activities was over for the day, it was time for the fun to start.
First on the agenda was the quenching of thirsts.
This was followed by a good old traditional English lunch of bangers and mash, followed by strawberries and cream.
As always, the kitchen and waiting staff came up trumps and delivered a really wholesome, tasty meal.
Benavista Bowls Club are planning many of these ‘fun days’ throughout the next few months of summer and they always welcome everyone along to join in with the fun. Bowls and shoes are available for hire and food is served 7 days a week.
