Motril burglars nabbed

POLICE in Motril have arrested five people who were allegedly found stealing from a house.

The officers from the Local Police surprised the alleged perpetrators, three of whom were minors, at around 1am after receiving a tip-off from a member of the public.
Councillor for Public Security, Maria Angeles Escamez, explained, “once there, they intercepted three men who were allegedly burgling the house and were attempting to flee.

The officers surrounded the house to prevent their escape, with agents stationed at the front and back. Likewise, they also kept watch over the roof and garden.”

She went on, “thus, after locating the owner of the property and accessing the house, Local Police officers found a pile of items on the floor and that the place had been turned over. On first inspection, they did not find anyone, on proceeding upstairs they found two people in the wardrobe of one bedroom. Startled, the alleged burglars tried to assault the officers and flee, which they did not manage thanks to the coordination between our agents and the National Police.”

Once identified, the two adults and three minors were taken to the National Police station and then transferred to court.
