Camp fun in Fuengirola

FUENGIROLA’S Council has opened registration for this year’s sports summer camp for kids, with prices staying the same as last year.

Pedro Cuevas, the town’s Councillor for Sports, explained, “the council is always thinking about the problem of finding activities for kids over the summer and we provide both a summer school and sports camp.”

The camp, which will take place in the Elola sports complex and David Mecca swimming pool, will run once in July, offering 140 places, and once in August, with 115 spaces. Prices are €100 for a month for children who have previously been registered and €150 for those who have not.

Mr Cuevas commented, “with this camp we hope to achieve three aims: helping working parents who find it difficult to supervise their children in July and August; giving children a break from their normal routine; and ensuring children who don’t normally play sports have a go at different activities which may give them a passion for sports.”

Activities will include swimming, soccer, basketball, handball, and athletics. Various trips to the beach, parks or the town’s areas of interest will also take place.
