Cancer survivor raises €1,800 for Cancer Care Javea

CANCER CARE Javea recently received a very generous donation from John Styles and his wife.

John’s personal experience with cancer started over a year ago when he woke one morning in terrible pain. Upon visiting Denia Hospital, he was told he had a urine infection which he later learnt, after visiting his own doctor, was in fact prostate cancer.

John was quickly put on a course of tablets and underwent chemotherapy.

Having recovered well, John wanted to ‘give something back’ to a cancer charity and chose to raise funds for Cancer Care Javea.

John was soon celebrating his 70th birthday and to mark the occasion, held a party complete with auction and raffle at Quo Vardis in Javea – raising an impressive €1,800.

John expresses his greatest thanks to all the local business for their support and in turn, Cancer Care Javea are extremely grateful to John and his friends for such a generous donation, which will go towards the ECMOR Foundation at Denia Hospital and other cancer related projects local to Javea.
