A CHARITY set up to help vulnerable children and young adults throughout Andalucia, is set to benefit from a charity tournament taking place in Estepona next month.
Proceeds raised from the Spence & Clarke Charity golf tournament, being held on Saturday June 3, will go to the Malaga based children’s charity Aldeas infantiles SOS.
Venue for the tournament, now in its ninth year, is the spectacular course at the El Paraiso Golf Club on the Ctra Malaga-Cadiz 174, Urb. Benavista, Estepona and the competition is open to golfers of all abilities.
In addition to the day’s golfing, the competitors will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle with some spectacular prizes and enjoy a first class lunch cooked by a top local chef.
In addition, organisers are holding an auction offering the chance to bid for some great items kindly donated by the local businesses sponsoring the event.
Auctioneer for the afternoon proceedings , as in previous years is Talk Radio Europe presenter, Giles Brown.
The competition format is a Texas Scramble for teams of four golfers and the cost of entry is just 85€, which includes a shared buggy. The shotgun start to the day’s golf is at 09.30h prompt.
Also included in the entry fee is a Southern Indian influenced lunch cooked by local chef Paul. Anyone wishing to join just for the lunch and auction is very welcome for the price of 35€.
Both prices include an automatic donation which will be paid directly to Aldeas Infantiles SOS.
Organisers are also holding a putting competition and the perennially popular ‘keepy-Uppy’ competition, which have both proved extremely popular in previous years.
Hoping to make the event run smoothly, organisers are requesting all green fees to be paid for in advance and full details will be sent on booking.
Designed in 1973 by Gary Player, El Paraiso is one of the most established courses on the Costa del Sol. The course is set out in the peaceful El Paraiso valley with the backdrop of the majestic ‘La Concha’ mountain to the north and the sparkling Mediterranean to the south.
El Paraiso has the envious reputation of not only providing one of the best championship course layouts on the coast, which draws players back time and time again, but also being the friendliest international club on the coast.
