International Museum Day culture vultures

MIJAS HAS celebrated International Museum Day with live music performances at the town’s museum yesterday.

Attendees were delighted by a classical guitar and violin concert at the free event. Fuensanta Lima, the town’s Councillor for Culture, explained, “we want to open the doors of our museums for a day and invite all residents to participate and in and enjoy our heritage.” She added, “we are fortunate to have a great history and a wealth of culture, which is often unknown by the people of Mijas.”

Music group D’Enbosa Duo, formed by guitarist Lidia Moreno and violinist Maria Jose Pareja, both music teachers, performed.

Other events around the town included exhibitions at the Mijas CAC, Max Carromato and the Torre de la Cala. The initiatives, which were all free, sought to raise the profile of the area’s culture.
