Denia councillor resigns for ‘strictly personal and professional’ reasons

DENIA COUNCILLOR Mari Martinez handed her notice in last week citing ‘strictly personal and professional’ reasons.

She will be replaced by Esteban Chornet in July.

Martinez became councillor after the resignation of Juan Sancho in 2011

She thanked residents of Denia for their ‘confidence’ and the ‘immense honour of having been able to work for them.’

This marks the third councillor resignation in Denia this year after those of Fran Vives (PP) and Antonio Losada.
