WITH THE warmer weather definitely on the horizon, now is the perfect time for us men to plan our ‘look’ for the summer.
Whether we’re lazing on a sandy beach, having lunch in a cool harbourside restaurant or hitting the bars and clubs on a balmy, star filled evening, there’s a look to suit all occasions.
Apparently, since his high profile performance in the La La Land last year, the guy every girl wants to date, and every guy wants to be is Ryan Gosling.
So, the summer look is tight, fitted tees and short-sleeved shirts with skinny cut jeans and shorts, worn with pumps or pale toned loafers.
Tight-legged, thigh length board shorts for the beach and pool, no baggy shorts this year and definitely no budgie-smuggling speedos either guys.
Baseball and football caps are out too. Think light coloured trilbies teamed with Rayban Aviator or wayfarer style sunglasses, or shades, as they are known to the hipsters.
OK, so far so good, but what about the hair? What’s the coolest haircut to sport on those hot summer days and cool, sophisticated nights?
Well, we’re here to tell you the skin fade haircut, also known as a zero fade and bald fade, is the trendiest and most popular men’s taper fade cut at the moment.
As one of the latest hair trends for men, the skin fade comes in a variety of cuts, such as a high, mid and low bald fade haircut.
Because the high and low skin fade works best with high-contrast “short on the sides, long hair on top” hairstyles, the cut is often paired with a stylish quiff, comb over, pompadour, side part, faux hawk or crew cut to create a super cool style.
However, men can definitely combine any short fade with short hair on top as well – just think buzz cut, waves, caesar, or French crop.
The other benefit of the bald taper fade is the clean, modern look of your shaved sides.
By buzzing the hair on the sides down to the skin, your barber creates a simple, low-maintenance hairstyle perfect for the spring and summer months.
