Going green in Marbella

MARBELLA’S COUNCIL has held an event among primary school children to teach the importance of recycling.

The event is in its third year and sees 1,500 pupils from 22 schools get involved in a scheme called, “Your City Cleaner”, which makes recycling fun buy rewarding participating children with gifts.

The youngsters will also be taught about the importance of cleaning up after pets and ensuring adults put their cigarette butts in bins.

Francisco Garcia, the Council’s spokesman for municipal cleaning explained the annual campaign was a success, saying, “through educating these children, we have also managed to reach their parents too.”
