Help for local business

0

A PLEA to support small local business and improve the commercial environment using €4.8 million is being made by the PSOE in Malaga.

The money is part of a larger amount being paid by the companies responsible for the extension of the Plaza Mayor Shopping Centre and the socialist group argue that at least some of the funds being paid to the council should be used to improve the look and facilities of neighbourhood shopping areas.

Small business is part of the lifeblood of the city and therefore needs to be supported with run down areas in particular cleaned up with new parking, street lighting and improved access.

The new stores in the shopping centre will in the main consist of up market brands and the PSOE believes that it is important that local people have the opportunity to purchase from local shops in a pleasant environment.
The matter will be discussed and voted on in the council chamber.
