Royal British Legion´s Poppy Appeal high hopes

THE MOLLINA branch of The Royal British Legion have set a target of raising €8000 for this year’s Poppy Appeal.

The charity has put together a programme of events to raise funds such as an animal-free race day on Tuesday 23 May and a commemoration of the commitment of the armed forces on Tuesday 27 June, which also marks the anniversary of the premature death of Christine Watson, a stalwart volunteer from the Mollina branch, who served over four years as secretary.

The group also plan a holiday to the Basque country in October, as well as annual remembrance events, which they hope will take them most of the way towards their target.

They encourage everyone to join in with their events, whether an ex-service person or not, and help raise funds.
