ELIAS BENDODO, the President of Malaga’s Provincial Council, has been re-elected as his party, the Partdido Popular’s, leader with 99.5% of the vote.
The vote, which took place at the 12th Provincial Congress, was a landslide victory for the president, who has been leading Malaga’s council since 2011.
Bendodo said the result “fills me with pride and honour.” He added he was “privileged to represent the 35,000 members of the province.” He explained his first priority was to “start working towards winning municipal elections and get Juanma Moreno elected president of Andalucia.”
In a reshuffle, he announced Patricia Navarro would be the party’s General Secretariat, replacing Margarita del Cid, who will now beomce vice-president of the party alongside Francisco Salado.
Manuel Marmolejo will be Deputy Secretary of Organisation, Algarrobo’s Partidof Popular leader, Natacha Rivas, will be responsible for Municipal Policy. Ruth Sarabia has been given responsibility for Social Action, while Miguel Briones has been given responsibility for the party in Malaga city.
Mr Bendodo described the collection as, “a great team with whom we face four years in which we want to turn Malaga into the third biggest city after Madrid and Barcelona, for its tourism, culture, economy and innovation.”
