Live music in Els Poblets in June


THE DEPARTMENT of Culture at the Ajuntament of Els Poblets has collaborated with maCMA to offer locals an exciting programme of free music concerts.

Musica als bars sees a local village bar play host to a different music act each Friday in June.
Bar Temptacions, Anem de Tapes, Cafeteria Andreu, Bar Almadrava and Bar Gladis are all taking part – see schedule:

Friday June 2 –
MAR-T @ Bar Temptacions
‘Mar-T is a quartet of musicians from the Marina Alta. The group consisting of guitar, bass, drums and vocals, we will enjoy styles like bossa nova rhythms and swing today.’

Friday June 9 –
A VORETA JAZZ @ Anem de Tapes
‘Latin jazz with Latin rhythms and American jazz improvisation. Feel the positive energy of the mambo and cha cha. Highlights the music of artists such as Poncho Sánchez, Ed Calle and Mario Bauzà.’

Friday June 16 –
SETLA DIXI QUARTET @ Cafeteria Andreu
‘Setla Dixi Quartet is made up of local musicians that play jazz in the style of early New Orleans through themes and styles of the era of classic swing.’

Friday June 23 –
‘”Chanson to manouche” “Et voila” is the musical project headed by singer Silvia Peaa. It is a French song repertoire based on the 1930-60 periods of great composers like Maurice Chevalier, Henri Salvador and Edith Piaf. All this seasoned with own arrangements and the sound and the language of Jazz “Manouche”’

Friday June 30 –
‘This quartet is inspired by the bands of the 30s, in the slope of the Swing Duke Ellington and Count Basie as the Jazz Manouche Django Reinhart.’

All concerts will start at 8.45pm and continue through to 10.45pm with a short break in the middle.
