Mijas Lions raise hundreds for charity

THE PRESIDENT of La Cala de Mijas Lions, Paul Butler, has presented the La Cala de Mijas Spanish Federation Football Club with a cheque for €900.

This year, the federation club has between 18 and 20 teams, charging €18 per month per child. Some children’s parents are unable to afford this, so the Lions have stepped in to give some of these children the opportunity to fulfil their dreams.

The cheque was presented to the club’s director, Fransisco Rosales, who was extremely grateful.  It is the second donation from the Lions to the federation club.

The next Lions event will be the Charter Ball on 9 June at the Hotel Tamisa Golf, starting at 7.30pm for 8pm.

Tickets costing at €45 can be purchased by telephone from the hotel on 952 585 988 or the Lions Shop on 677 059 061.
