THE TORREVIEJA market will move to its new location, behind the Aquapark, on la avenida de Delfina Viudes, on 12 May and will open its doors to street vendors at 4.00am.
The 80,000 m2 site – which has cost more than €5 million to develop – will have space for almost 700 pitches. There will be a Local Police checkpoint and access to public toilets and the site will also be available for other uses such as concerts and fiestas.
Councillor Javier Manzanares said the new site will ‘provide far more space to traders and shoppers, alleviate much of the current traffic chaos and security will be improved.’
The move will be welcomed by many residents of Torrevieja residents who, for many years, have been hugely inconvenienced simply by living in the neighbourhood of the current market site.
