Oliva U3A visit the Albufera

0

FORTY MEMBERS of Oliva U3A enjoyed a day out to Albufera recently – a vast, freshwater lagoon and nature reserve near Valencia, where rice paddies stretch as far as the eye can see.

After visiting a traditional clay and reed fisherman’s hut, the group delighted in a long boat trip around the lagoon, admiring both the scenery and the wildlife, followed by lunch.

After lunch, the group moved on to Cuenca to visit a family run chocolate factory based in a beautiful townhouse, where chocolate is still being made to original recipes from the 19th century.

The group toured the factory and listened to a talk on the history of chocolate making, enhanced, of course, with many samples along the way with an opportunity to purchase their favourite products at the end.
