Orange party

ONCE a year, Coin welcomes thousands of visitors to a festival celebrating the end of the orange harvest.

Around 8,000 people are estimated to have visited the town for this year´s event, which offered up a wide range of orange-based dishes, as well as local craft products.

The event, which is held on a Sunday each May, has been recognised in Malaga as a tourist event of special note since 2004. This year, festival-goers were treated to an orange salad which incorporated cod, onions and potatoes, as well as a special dish created by chef, Felix Mesa, cooked in the town centre in an enormous pan. Many local residents also prepared deserts for visitors, using orange as the main ingredient, and the event.
