Race for Life weekend in Los Alcazares

LACE UP those training shoes, grab a bottle of water and head on down to the Club Nautico in Los Alcazares this Sunday May 7 at 11.00am, for the annual Race For Life cancer charity fundraiser organised by MABS Murcia Mar Menor.

Now in its ninth year, the popular event is open to everybody without restrictions and is a fantastic way of getting a little exercise, having a lot of fun and raising much needed funds for cancer sufferers.

The 3 kilometre course is run in a party atmosphere and participants can complete it however they want, by running, jogging, walking, roller skating, roller blading, skateboarding, dog walking, dancing, in a wheelchair, walking on your hands or a combination of all of them.

Bring along the whole family, wear fancy dress if you feel like it, or maybe get together with a group of friends, family or work colleagues to enter as a team. Who knows, you may even win the prize of the Team Shield.

Entry fee for the race is €10 for adults and €5 for children with every cent going in donation to the charity.

It’s not too late to join in with this fun event. Registration and sponsorship forms are available from the MABS Charity Shop, Avenida Ramon y Cajal 12, San Javier; The Post Room, Rio Nalon, Los Alcazares and the Saturday Book Stall at The Arches, Calle Penelope, Los Alcazares.

Alternatively call the charity on 634 310 783 or send an email to mabsdonnawalsh@gmail.com.

You can also register on the day, but get there as early as possible to guarantee your entry.

The registration desk will be open at 9.30am on Sunday for later registrations, an hour and a half before the race begins at 11.00am.
