Road works

MARBELLA’S COUNCIL has committed to improving the pavement and infrastructure on Calle Montenebros, with a budget of €250,000.

Blanca Fernandez, Councillor for Public Works, said the project would sold “important deficiencies” in a road which is “very much deteriorated by the passage of time and subsequent works.”

She added infrastructure would also be upgraded, with improvements to the sanitary network. She said of the pipes, “their reduced diameter creates blockages quite frequently and the supply network is inadequate.” She added, “the telecommunications network is also non-existent.”

The works, which are out to tender, will include installing a telephone network, wiring, street lighting and street furniture.

Ms Fernandez said residents had been asking for the improvements for some time and that the street will join many others which have already been upgraded in the town.
