Javea students celebrate diversity

THE TWO public schools of Javea celebrated International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on Wednesday last week – a ‘worldwide celebration of sexual and gender diversities’.

Students prepared an awareness campaign, complete with a video that will be shared on social media and a set of posters with slogans such as ‘love is too beautiful to hide in a closet’, ‘heterosexuality is not more normal, it is more common’ and ‘love has to be free’.

At break-time, students read a manifesto exhibiting the importance of emotional freedom and an active position against discrimination by sexual orientation.
