ON APRIL 20, several members of the Costa Blanca Anglo Spanish Association went on an outing to Gata de Gorgos.
The group met at the Restaurant Arrels, where they enjoyed lunch before heading on to the Joan Cashmira Guitar Factory for a guided visit.
Members were talked through each of the various stages of guitar-making and learnt that the quality of the guitar is largely dependent on the type of wood used, with rosewood considered especially suitable for the purpose.
At the end of the tour, Secretary Jenny Bond purchased a guitar, which maker Antonio expertly tuned for her.
The Costa Blanca Anglo Spanish Association is a non-profit association boasting approximately 110 expatriate members. The principal aim of the Association is to give members the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of Spain; its history, geography and culture.
