SPANISH SUPERMARKET giant Carrefour, with hypermarkets throughout the Valencian region are recruiting for 6700 temporary jobs for the coming summer.
Nine out of ten of these vacancies will be front of house positions such as customer service and check-out, shelf-stacking, staff on the deli counters and in technology sales, with others needed for financial services, travel agencies and petrol stations.
Applicants should have a ‘clear sales orientation’ and ‘excellent customer service skills’, as well as being able to work well in a team, digital or computer skills and ‘great potential for development’.
Students and young people looking for their first job are expected to fill most of the vacancies, but the positions are open to all age groups and experience levels.
Potential will be valued as much as prior experience, so those who believe they have what it takes to make a success of the job will be considered even if they have never worked in a hypermarket or similar position before.
Anyone interested in applying for one of the new positions should visit the company website and submit an up to date cv, or visit one of the stores’ human resources departments.
At the end of last year Carrefour had 49,000 employees, but having recently taken over a number of large stores from competitor Eroski, they have embarked on a major recruitment campaign.
