Two arrested for falsifying passport

A 58-YEAR-OLD man and a 19-year-old have been arrested in Marbella for allegedly falsifying a passport in order to gain a residency permit.

The National Police arrested the men, both originally from Senegal, after they tried to use a manipulated passport to claim to be father and son.

The pair had turned up at Marbella’s National Police Station to falsely apply for family residency when officers became suspicious.

Agents checked out the older man, who received citizenship in Spain two years ago, and believe he is using his children’s passports to help other Senegalese youths gain residency.

Police are still investigating and the two men have been handed over to the Judicial Authority.
