U3A summer activities group

TORREVIEJA based self-help group, University of the Third Age (U3A) is to continue its programme of events over the summer season, thanks to the group’s new president, Rob Edwards.

Their first gathering will take place on 7 June, which will take in a walk around Benalmadena’s beautiful Parque de la Paloma. The park features a large lake and beautiful cacti gardens. The group are meeting at 11.30am at Pepe’s restaurant on the roundabout for refreshments before setting off. Rob said the event would be a great opportunity for members to sit in the sun and moot ideas for future excursions.

The summer’s other activities will include table tennis, photography, walking, petanque, back gammon, and a Sunday coffee morning. Guests and visitors are welcome but should note events could change subject to numbers.

The association, which currently has around 30 members, are always looking for new members. Anyone interested in joining, or in details of any events, can email Rob at [email protected] or through the U3A Facebook page.
