THE TEODORO REDING cultural association is set to put on a commemorative walk around Malaga, celebrating the city’s resistance against Napoleon’s troops in 1810.

The event will take in several of the most significant sites of the resistance, including the Ermita de Zamarrilla, and the districts of La Trinidad and El Perchel.

The day will kick off at 11.30 am from the gates of Iglesia del Carmen, ending at Plaza de San Pablo at 12.45 pm, where there will be a re-enactment of the resistance. Locals from La Trinidad, as well as actors from theatre group “Arriba el Telon” and historical society “Tarifa 1812” will participate in the staging.

The event is now in its fourth edition, having first taen place in 2010, 200 years after the resistance. 300 participants from France, Spain and Poland took part in the re-enactment.
