Warm spicy Curry Pot nights

WHAT BETTER way to spend an early summer evening than lounging on a spacious terrace enjoying the warm, spicy flavours of authentic Indian Cuisine.

That is exactly what you will discover at The Curry Pot in Alfas del Pi and if the traditional taste of the sub-continent whets your appetite, you will be in very safe hands.

Owner Charlie Neeraj Pathak, was born near to Delhi and has spent the last ten years living in the area and working in various Indian restaurants in Benidorm.

The Curry Pot, which he opened just over 12 months ago, is his first solo venture and he is already beginning to set the standards for Indian food in the area.

Charlie is quick to point out that, although there are many Nepalese restaurants in the vicinity, he is proud of his home country’s cuisine.

With an extensive menu of standards and specials including his own favourite, Maharajah Prawns, there is something for everyone, as spicy as you like.

He is so confident you will love the food at the Curry Pot, that Charlie is running a free food tasting day on Thursday June 1.

He is offering a free serving of either chicken curry and rice or vegetable curry and rice to customers who arrive during their daily opening hours of 1.00pm to 4.00pm and 6.00pm to 10.00pm, excluding drinks.

The hundred cover restaurant has a beautiful dining area, full of unique artwork, backlit by low lighting to give a cosy atmosphere on cooler evenings.

However, the lovely terrace overlooking parkland and trees is where RTN caught up with Curry Pot regulars, Jo and Jeff Morris, dining with their friend Jane Webb: “We live in Altea and we’ve been coming here ever since it opened”, said Jo “It is without doubt, the best Indian in the area”, she enthused, explaining her particular favourite is chicken chasni cooked in a masala sauce with ginger, garlic and mint.

Charlie is proud of the fact he has many customers who regularly take advantage of his takeaway service, which has free delivery within five kilometres, with a minimum spend of 25.00€.

You will find the Curry Pot in Arabi Plaza on the edge of Alfas del Pi. They are closed on Mondays and for reservations or takeaway phone 965 888 244 or 642 466 011.
