Free cultural activities on White Night in Malaga

THE WHITE Night, the annual event promoting participatory culture, reaches its tenth year in Malaga and offers more than 200 activities across the city.

Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre accompanied by the Councillor for Culture, Gemma del Corral, representatives of the participating institutions and sponsors Unicaja and Ingenia Foundation, present the programme with special activities to mark the tenth anniversary.
Locals and visitors can enjoy around 220 free cultural activities in 92 areas of the city. It will begin at 7pm and end around 2am on May 20.

The theme for this year has been very inspiring resulting in the proposal called “The Sensory Box. Dreams’. This is the first sensory outdoor show held in Spain by Isaac Dospuntos. It will take place on the street Molina Patio incorporating a new location with great potential and visibility. Three passes will be held at 11pm, midnight and 1am and attendees will experience them through the senses – immersive sensations in a magical, dreamlike atmosphere. It includes decorative elements and staging with music, dance and multiple effects.

For the first time, the White Night will feature a mobile application allowing visitors to know the different activities available, times and locations. On its 25th anniversary, the company Ingenia wanted to join the great cultural festival contributing as sponsors of the app “Personal Dreamer. White Night”. The app will soon be available free for Android and IOS smartphones.
With this app, participants can track activities on the map of Malaga and find their location.

Once they have chosen the activity of interest, they can access a page with all the details. A very useful option, especially for visitors and tourists, is that the app provides the directions finding the shortest route on the map from your location to the activity. Users can also activate their own alerts and will be able to see what is being said on social networks that night and receive instant messages with information of interest.

Some of the proposals of the White Night 2017 require registration so anyone interested in attending the event can check the official website (www.lanocheenblancomalaga.com) and follow the signs that have been published.
