Bus schedule extended

MIJAS’S Council has expanded the M-119 bus schedule for the summer period, with extended hours during the week and four further trips on weekends and holidays.

The route, which connects all the urbanisations around Mijas, will now run for
two further hours Monday to Friday and four trips on weekends. The line, which
has only been in operation for a year, has been a hit, and already adapted to
client demands for further stops at the La Cala health centre and Miramar
shopping centre.

The route now stops at CC Miramar, El Castillo, El Faro, Chaparral, Oasis, La
Cala, Botanical Garden, Torrenueva, Miraflores, riviera and Calahonda. Nuria
Rodriguez, Councillor for Transport and Mobility, explained, “although we have
had to adjust the schedules due to our budget line we have, we have again managed
to increase the service hours, including on weekends and holidays, so that
tourists can visit our town any day, or our residents can go to the Mall.”

The bus has also been adapted for people with reduced mobility so they can easily
benefit from the service. Ms Rodriguez comment, “we are very proud to have met a
historic demand, so residents can make use of this bus and travel freely along
the coast, as well as to La Cala itself.”
