PAUL BUTLER, President of La Cala de Mijas Lions has presented El Chaparral School with thousands of euros to help local children.
Vanessa Caballero Villanueva received the cheque, which was given by the Lions to celebrate 100 years since their founding. With it, the school hopes to pay for a tannoy system and a new telephone and intercom system.
The tannoy system, which also plays music, has helped towards greatly improving the running of the school. It has created an amazing transformation in communication and atmosphere for both teachers and pupils.
Lions Clubs bring together like minded people, pooling their talents and resources for the good of their local community. One of their major objectives is to help children and by helping local schools they can reach out and help many in our area.
To show their appreciation for all that the La Cala Lions have done, the school has put up a plaque on the wall recognising the contributions the La Cala Lions Club has made, not only this year but in others as well. Paul Butler thanked them on behalf of all of its members.
