Malaga firefighters injured in warehouse blaze

TWO FIREMEN have been hurt while battling an early morning fire on Calle Tucidides in Malaga’s Santa Barbara poligono.

Forensic police are now investigating what started the blaze, which seriously damaged three warehouses, and, according to SUR newspaper, have not ruled out arson.

Workers battled the inferno for over three hours from 2.45am, before finally bringing it under control, with two firefighters injured in the process. It is thought their injuries are not life-threatening, however, with one of them breaking a finger.

The fire wrecked a parquet flooring warehouse, as we as another stocking cleaning machinery and one selling mattresses.

Three fire engines, as well as the Local Police, National Police and health workers all attended the scene after receiving several emergency calls.

Firefighters believe the blaze started in one of the three warehouses before spreading to the other two.
