AN UNNAMED man has been arrested for trying to hang his dog in Fuengirola’s Plaza de la Constitucion in broad daylight.

The man, who allegedly first to kill the animal with its lead and then with his bare hands, faces charged of animal abuse, while his dog is recovering at an animal shelter.

Officers from the National Police arrested the man after receiving calls from concerned members of the public at around 5.45pm saying he was chasing his “terrified” looking dog.

The officers then interviewed several witnesses who confirmed the man had tried to kill his animal.
